School Counseling Experience

Professional School Counselor, Lot Whitcomb Elementary School 2015 - 2016
  • Counseled students in grades K through 5, using person-centered and solution-focused approaches to address issues such as bullying, friendship concerns, family conflict, academic performance, and suicide prevention.
  • Created and facilitated small groups that targeted anger management, social skills, behavioral issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Launched school-wide yoga initiative and introduced therapy dog program to increase emotional regulation and decrease classroom disruptions
  • Adapted and managed high school mentoring program and saw a 90% retention rate for mentors
  • Taught over 150 hours of classroom guidance on topics such as safety, bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and sex abuse prevention
  • Analyzed attendance data, collaborate with attendance team to reduce student truancy
